A rental car is still the best way to explore Réunion at your own pace. Choosing our Thrifty car rental agency means enjoying peace of mind throughout your stay on the island. However, we encourage you to review our general rental terms and conditions first.
Every time you rent a car from Thrifty Réunion, a rental agreement is drawn up. This agreement serves as a guarantee of mutual trust.
We will provide you with a car that is in good working order and has a vehicle exterior in good condition. If this is not the case, please let us know, and we will resolve the issue by providing you with another vehicle. The keys, paperwork, and the car’s equipment and accessories will be handed over to you once you have signed the contract.
You may specify the location where you’d like to pick up the car. You can also pick it up at one of our three locations:
Or in Saint-Gilles.
The rental car includes mandatory insurance covering property damage and bodily injury (driver and passengers). You will not be held liable if full responsibility for the accident is attributed to a clearly identified third party. Other types of coverage, such as coverage against theft, fire, and glass breakage, are also available.
Please bring the necessary documents so we can draw up the rental agreement: a valid ID, a valid driver’s license, and a valid form of payment in your name… Please note that certain vehicle categories have minimum age and driver’s license tenure requirements.
The rental car will be the responsibility of the person named in the rental agreement. Whether on the road or in a parking lot, the key and vehicle documents must always be with the driver. Please note that only the drivers named in the contract are authorized to drive the rental car.
In the event of traffic violations, both the driver and the rental company will be held liable. You will therefore be required to reimburse the agency for certain costs (fines, impound release fees, etc.). And in the event of an accident, be sure to take the necessary steps to document any violations and preserve evidence.
Before you can drive the rental car, you must first pay the estimated rental amount and provide a security deposit. You may also choose to pay in advance, with the option to cancel your reservation.
The return of the car, its keys, and the administrative documents, as well as payment of the final rental amount, terminate the rental agreement. Please return the car to one of our three locations during business hours. You must return the vehicle by the specified date; failure to do so may result in a complaint for misappropriation and breach of trust.
Since the rental period is 30 days and renewable, please let us know if you wish to extend your stay.
